Hello and thank you for your interest.
As a young kid growing up in Winter Park, Florida, my father was an avid hobbyist photographer who had his own darkroom and did his own printing. You might think that I had been into photography all my life, but it is not the case.
It took a somewhat tragic event to bring my life to the point where it is today.
In the fall of 2002 at about 1:30 a.m., I received a call from a dear friend explaining that my house was on fire. I was working at a pool hall at the time, and quickly closed shop and raced home. What I saw when I got there was something that resembled a structure made of burnt match sticks. All of my art was destroyed, along with almost everything that I owned.
After a hair raising week of searching for a new home and salvaging what I could; I decided to head to my family's cabin in North Carolina. The cabin has always been a place where I can get myself grounded. I went up there armed with a simple point and shoot camera, with the idea that I would replace all of my burned art with photographs. The rest as they say, is history. There is never a time that I am without my camera, and after one day of shooting in N.C., I knew that I had found something that would be with me the rest of my life. The possibility of a great image is what excites and drives me, and I look forward to sharing that experience with you.
Since then I have gotten married to a beautiful woman who gave birth to our beautiful son, and life is pretty darn good!
